art dream come true

living as an artist in North Borneo is no easy task.. Especially when your art is not recognise by the locals art seeker.. here in North Borneo.. contemporary art has limits to their subject/topic/style.. most of the artists paints cultural, scenery and portrait and majority are realism artist.. that's about it..

9 years ago i started an underground art movement trying to educate the public about art.. that there's more than just realism, ideas, creativity, style and such.. well.. i didn't get to do alot of changes.. since everyone has their own negative opinion about this.. The most common words i heard is "if we don't paint anything about North Borneo, we can't sell it".. Well i assumed that it's because they do art just for the sake of selling and not because they love to paint or do any art.. plus in the public eyes during that time.. "if we don't understand it, it's not art" this movement stopped after 2 years.. I went on to work as Graphic Designer in different companies... till the year 2008.. a friend of mine Donald Abraham came for a visit... he bainwashed my head and I start doing art again..

Recently.. well a year back to be exact.. me and some of my friends decided it's time to change the whole thing again.. so we formed "ARTPreciate".. a collaboration of artist with diffrent style, topic and technique.. so in 2009 we did 6 mini art exhibition.. which gave a slight impact in the art scene.. and discover that contemporary art do get accepted by alot of people.. early 2010.. the group split.. because some got married.. transfer to diffrent state working and such.. so just left me and Anddy... "ARTPreciate" still exist.. it's just less artist than before.. So Anddy and I got invited to do few exhibitions.. and along the way we manage to get good feedback from the public, artists and also the Local Art Gallery.. and finally... this happen.. well recently...

A art exhibition proposal was made and accepted by the local gallery.. well let's just say yall be seeing more art from north borneo in future time... well this is just some info to why i do what i do.. thanks.. cracko
